What It’s Made Of
The Rock N’ Bowl is made of a BPA- and phthalate-free, tough-as-a-tank plastic called polypropylene. It’s a recyclable plastic that is generally reserved for human products and uncommon in the pet world, but was a no-brainer for us. It never even occurred to us to use non-human grade plastic because we know you want the best for your pup!
Where It’s Made
Rock N’ Bowl is made at Extreme Molding near Albany, NY. We chose them because they specialize in products for very sensitive industries such as healthcare and children’s products that require the safest materials available. We also love the people who represent Extreme Molding and have confidence that they are 100% on board with PAW5’s core values of Sustainability, Integrity, and Thoughtful Design. They care about PAW5 and all of the work we do, and that is what matters most.
How It’s Made
The patented molds used to create the pieces of the Rock N’ Bowl are designed to limit plastic waste in manufacturing. But just like in life, occasional mistakes happen so we ensure that any scrap material from the mold process is ground down for reuse in other products. We also donate all finalized bowls that have minor defects to local shelters. No waste here!
Wait… What About Shipping Waste?
We thought the same thing and decided to find a solution. The bowls are shipped to us in large cardboard boxes, which although recyclable… we wanted to find a way to up-cycle and reuse! So we bought a monster-like machine that grinds up those boxes and turns them into awesome springy padding, which we use to ship products out to stores safely! No waste from shipping – check!
So there you have it. The Rock N’ Bowl is a zero waste, closed-loop process that makes the decision of “which puzzle feeder to buy” a snap! No other puzzle feeder can claim this and yeah, we think that makes ours better. PAW5 is about so much more than just products or even canine enrichment.
